The data management service IBM Spectrum Protect – formerly Tivoli Storage Manager – is fully compatible with Deutsche Telekom's public cloud offering. As a result, Open Telekom Cloud has officially been awarded the title "Validated for IBM Storage." Companies can thus easily back up databases to the Open Telekom Cloud S3-compatible OBS service using IBM Spectrum Protect. This certification also ensures IBM customer support for IBM Spectrum Protect.
"The Open Telekom Cloud is constantly and continuously being further developed. In doing so, we focus on the needs of our customers," says Robert Uhl, Customer Success Manager at T-Systems. "Many companies use IBM Spectrum Protect to manage and protect their data in on-premises systems. With the new certification, these companies can now also implement backup and disaster recovery scenarios with Oracle or Exchange databases and with SAP systems on the Open Telekom Cloud. And thus can use IBM Spectrum Protect as usual."
