The service Oracle-optimized is based on the integration of Oracle Private Cloud Appliance™ devices that are fully compatible with Oracle™ Cloud Infrastructure. This enables companies to run their applications with improved scalability, performance and availability.

With Oracle-optimized, you only need one Oracle Database Enterprise Edition license for every 4 vCPUs. This means you can run powerful applications and keep your costs under control. You simply bring your own Oracle licenses (BYOL), giving you flexibility and choice. If you’d like to use other Oracle products, we recommend reaching out to your Oracle license partner for guidance. Currently, Oracle-optimized is designed to support Oracle Database Enterprise Edition only.

- Oracle-Optimized runs on Oracle Private Cloud Appliance X10, ensuring data remains local, operations are managed under European jurisdiction, and technology independence is maintained – fully supporting the core elements of digital sovereignty.
- All Oracle database implementations are based only on Linux Oracle version 7, 8 or 9 as the operating system.
- If a database in the same availability zone (Magdeburg/Biere) crashes, a new instance with the same internal VPC IP address and the same flavor is automatically created within a few seconds. Users of Oracle-optimized will be informed directly in such a case. As the data is replicated in the ZFS storage in the same availability zone (Magdeburg/Biere), there is no data loss.
- The desired database version and the underlying Oracle Linux operating system will be provided as well as a login access with the aim to execute Oracle operating system and Oracle database patching/upgrades by customer.
- Oracle-optimized users are granted full root access to the database and are responsible for managing credentials and access.
- A Direct Connect connection is a must have and will be additional charged separately.
