d.velop summit 2024: A celebration of digitalization

The Open Telekom Cloud team was at center stage: with presentations, a stand and its own mascots.

In this article you will read

  • what issues the d.velop summit covered,
  • how the Open Telekom Cloud was involved and
  • which questions concern cloud users most of all in 2024.

From June 11-13, the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf opened its doors for the d.velop summit, offering new ideas around digitalization for over 2000 participants under the motto “Inspire. Feel. Learn.”

d.velop Summit: Taking stock of tech innovation

The d.velop summit is where the d.velop partner network meets d.velop customers to promote interaction, knowledge exchange and networking. What is on the horizon, what solutions does the market offer, what is in demand? Artificial intelligence (AI) was a key topic this year: Is the potential as big as people say it is and how can companies tap into it? One thing is clear: AI needs a secure and scalable cloud. So the cloud as a basis for digital innovation was at the heart of many discussions at this year’s d.velop summit.

Partners from the d.velop network contributed to the success of the event alongside keynote speakers Janis McDavid and Dunja Hayali. Presentations on the hot topic of AI, new digital solutions and practical-use cases were held simultaneously on five stages. Networking breaks and interaction in the large market hall were a great opportunity to exchange ideas in person.

Open Telekom Cloud: At center stage

Open Telekom Cloud is a long-standing partner of d.velop and was the main sponsor of this year's event. It took therefore center stage with presentations, a large stand and other highlights. Check out the video for first-hand impressions!

Presentations by Chief Product Owner Holger Schultheiß and Chief Product Manager Daniel Schellhase were well met. Holger’s talk (“Artificial intelligence – no more woulda and coulda”) gave the audience a wealth of tips for their own AI projects. Holger also introduced the new AI chatbot that will help visitors around the Open Telekom Cloud website. Daniel explained the added value to be gained from sovereignty using real customer examples from the Open Telekom Cloud (“Sovereignty in the cloud, more than just hot air?”).

Open Telekom Cloud you can touch

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the Open Telekom Cloud's new mascots. Together, they roamed the halls as the big “T” and the “Open Telekom Cloud Cloud”, putting a smile on visitors' faces and directing them to the exclusive stand to find out more about the European cloud solution.

The Open Telekom Cloud stand was busy right through the summit, giving many participants first-hand information. A lot of the questions, particularly from public sector organizations, still reflect concerns about the cloud, like: “How do you guarantee data protection and data security?” and “Do you comply with the regulations for storing personal and sensitive data?”. Certificates, industry-specific obligations and references made it clear that the Open Telekom Cloud can meet all data protection and data security requirements in the public administration environment. These dialogues also gave valuable insight into customer needs and demands.

Moreover, there was also a small “Magenta Stage” where the Open Telekom Cloud experts gave presentations on customer success stories, the relevance of sustainable resource provision and tips on cloud usage.

Impulses for secure digitalization

The d.velop summit was an inspiring and lively event that enabled an exchange at eye level. Participants went away with valuable ideas for their digitalization projects and confidence that the Open Telekom Cloud will be with them every step of the way.
