We have enhanced our Auto Scaling (AS) service to support encrypted disk types when automatically creating new Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) instances during scaling operations. This update enables customers to maintain consistent data protection and compliance when scaling workloads dynamically.
Details
- The Auto Scaling (AS) service now supports Elastic Volume Service (EVS) disks with encryption enabled.
- Newly created EVS disks during scaling are automatically encrypted according to the encryption settings defined in the scaling configuration.
- Encryption keys are securely managed through the Key Management Service (KMS), ensuring centralized control and enhanced data security.
Availability
This feature is now generally available in all Open Telekom Cloud regions.
- On the Console, the feature can be activated after selecting the required operating system version.
- The AS Config API has been extended with metadata elements in the disk definition.
- The Terraform provider now supports specifying a KMS key ID in as_configuration_v1. We recommend version 1.36.56.
