The smallest Memory-optimized flavor css.medium.8 in CSS will be replaced by May 12th with another similar flavor that fits similar specifications as currently “css.medium.8” does.
After the new flavor has been replaced, the new flavor will affect:
- CSS single node or cluster new deployments with flavor type: css.medium.8
- Replacement of nodes
- Scaling out
- Restoring from Backup
Existing Cloud Search Service instances must be upgraded with the new flavor with following options out of the box available in CSS user interface:
If your CSS instance is only a single node deployment:
If your CSS cluster contains only two nodes:
- Scaling out & Scaling in your two nodes CSS cluster
If your CSS cluster has 3 or more nodes:
Please keep in mind: The configurations you modified manually will not be retained after node replacement.
Important notes:
It’s very important that you first read the constrains carefully.
If you have a single instances deployment, you can decide until end of 2025 to migrate into the new replacement flavor by selecting Backup & Restore option.
Affected customers using “EOL flavor” will be informed directly and highlight the three options to migrate/replace EOL nodes with the new one.
