The Relational Database Service (RDS) is a cloud-based database management system that enables users to easily create, manage, and scale relational databases. RDS offers a range of benefits, including high security, reliability, and performance. With RDS, users can create, configure, and manage their databases without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. RDS supports multiple database engines, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
Following new features were introduced to increase customer satisfaction:
MySQL New Features:
- Exporting an Excel DB Instance List Containing Backup Policies from the RDS Console.
- Active/StandBy switchover is allowed during backup.
- Incremental backup acceleration.
- MySQL8.0 parameter internal_tmp_mem_storage_engine can be modified to memory.
PotsgreSQL New Features:
- Support stopping instances.
- Support pgvector 0.7.0 version.
Microsoft SQL New Features:
- Optimizing the incremental backup of SQL Server.
